REVIEW: Onyx Unleashed (Good vs. Evil Series Book 1) by Tanya Vought

26253536Onyx Unleashed (Good vs. Evil Series Book 1) by Tanya Vought

When good and evil collide, who will be left standing?

Eden Cross is lonely. If she didn’t have her beloved cat, Onyx, she’d have no one at all. Eden longs for companionship, but, being a prisoner, all she gets is foul-mouthed demons and hatred from the one man she wants respect from the most.

Collier Brigham is son of the King of Demons. Bitter with hatred, like his father, he’s expected to be a force to be reckoned with. He never believed love would rear its ugly head in his favor. Especially not when the woman is the daughter of the man who is to blame for the deaths of his mother and brother.

She is a beautiful force of nature and he is misery personified. When secrets are revealed, can they see past the unthinkable and work together to right their wrongs?

MY REVIEW:
THREE STARS

***

I was gifted a copy of this book from the author ... The synopsis sounds great and the reviews were really good so I thought I'd give it a go ... I love paranormal romance
.......
I know a lot of the reviews are really great and people LOVED this book ... this is my opinion and my review

It really breaks my heart, that I couldn't LOVE this book!
I loved the synopsis, I love the creative idea of the story, I loved the very beginning and the very end but everything in between left me feeling confused and disappointed!
The book is supposed to be in third person
but I really struggled with it as it seemed to bounce POV at random

The flow of the story often seemed jumpy
I would be reading and the scenes jumped without any flow or transition ... in fact, sometimes the characters would go from doing one thing to another and I'd be wondering how they go to do that so Id have to reread a page or two
~I was very confused~

I wanted to love Collier and Eden but I only found them too confusing, annoying sometimes, I did enjoy many of the secondary characters

I was blown away by the ending ... what a surprise!
I was loving the last 10% of the book ... it seemed to flow better and it was much more exciting

This is only the author's second book and she clearly shows she has a lot of creative talent and I finished the book wondering what happens next ... so, while I struggled with this book, I have no doubt her future books will only improve
I do look forward to more from this author
